Recommendations on equipment for plasmapheresis room (for Double Filtration Plasmapheresis, DFPP):

• Plasmapheresis system (AFERsmart Plus^TM) with heater Kalos
• Filters (PLASMART) – Our partner clinics mostly use PLASMART 600 or PLASMART 700 
• Plasma fractionators (FRACTIOsmart^TM) – Large (for cholesterol), Medium (cholesterol and antibodies) and Small (antibodies). Our partner clinics mostly use Medium
• Sets of connectors for DFPP
• Chair for medical procedures (armrests should provide good support for arms with vein catheters)
• Based on STANDARD DER THERAPEUTISCHEN APHERESE 2023: Blood analyser for coagulation time, ionized calcium and potassium, blood gases and acid-base balance
• ECG monitor
• Medical emergency equipment (emergency kit, oxygen, defibrillator)
• Medical waste bins

• Catheters (we recommend Dialysis cannula Diacan® Flex 16G 25 mm)
• Tourniquet (for placing vein catheters)

• Self-adhesive bandages 10cm (must be placed on patient's veins after the procedure to stop the bleeding)
• Intravenous vitamins (C, B1, B6, B12) - if needed
• Gloves, masks for medical personnel
• Antiseptics 

Because DFPP requires only arm vein access, there are no specific requirements as to the room air sterilization. Standard requirements for medical room disinfection, gloves and masks for personnel apply.
